Application process

  • Fill out application form for a Subsidy Certificate
  • Forward to either your Commanding Officer or an authorised delegate of the Commanding Officer, to stamp and sign your service details. The delegate is not to be below the rank of Warrant Officer Class 2, or equivalent. Appliications will still be required to have the Unit stamp.
  • Post to Scheme Administrator (do not fax)
  • DVA will determine your eligibility and entitlements
  • Once confirmed, DVA will post your Subsidy Certificate to your home address (it will not be faxed directly to your Home Loan Provider)  
  • Take your Subsidy Certificate to your Home Loan Provider
  • Your Home Loan Provider will advise DVA when your loan is finalised
  • Based on your home loan balance, DVA will confirm how much your monthly subsidy entitlement is
  • Payments are made at the start of each month, and cover the month prior. For example, if you draw down your loan in August, you will receive your first subsidy payment in early October. This will be for the month of September.
  • DVA will send you a letter advising you of your subsidy payments.
