Defence Home Ownership Assistance Scheme Presentations – Townsville QLD, December 2024
The Defence Home Ownership Assistance Scheme provides eligible serving and ex-serving ADF members with a monthly subsidy on the interest of your home loan.
Whether you are ready to enter the housing market or intend to in the future, we would like to invite the Defence and Veteran community in Townsville to join the team from DHOAS at the following in-person presentations for a short overview of the scheme, so you can find out if DHOAS is the right option for you and your family.

Reserve Audit 2023-24 Financial Year
The 2023-24 Reserve Audit commences in April 2024 and your DHOAS effective service requirements will be reviewed between April and July 2024.
- Are you currently a member of the Reserves?
- Do you receive a DHOAS subsidy above Tier 1?
- Do you know (or think) that you won't be completing 20 days of paid service prior to 30 June 2024?
- You can contact us on 1300 434 627 to discuss minimising any potential overpayment of your DHOAS subsidy.
What happens if you don't contact us?
- DVA will contact you about your service using the contact details we have on your DHOAS records.
- If we cannot contact you, your service will be assessed using the data we have received from Defence to finalise the 2023-24 financial year requirements.

Subsidised Loan Limits 2023-24
The Subsidised Loan Limits (SLLs) are updated each financial year to reflect 40% (Tier 1), 60% (Tier 2), and 80% (Tier 3) of the national weighted average housing price (NWAHP) in Australia.
This is to ensure that the SLLs stay relevant to the current housing market. For the 2023-24 financial year, there is a decrease to the NWAHP therefore, the SLLs will decrease. These figures are now available on the DHOAS homepage.

Disaster Assistance - NSW Floods
If you are impacted by the recent flooding across parts of New South Wales, please note that assistance is available.
Veterans and their families requiring emergency counselling support can call Open Arms on 1800 011 046.
There is additional support available for current and ex-serving ADF members on the Defence Health and Well-being page.
Federal Government and State Government financial assistance is also available for New South Wales communities impacted.
